Annual Report (available as a PDF)
Giving is personal,
and behind each contribution is an individual reason for giving.
Mercy Hospital Foundation, Mercy Iowa City's preferred channel for
private gifts, offers a variety of ways to contribute to Mercy's
programs and services. One of these programs can fit your personal
financial plan while benefiting tomorrow's patients and their families,
medical staff, and hospital employees.
The simplest
method of providing support for Mercy is a cash gift - whether a
personal check, credit card authorization, money order, or bank
draft made payable to Mercy Hospital Foundation. Checks are deposited
promptly when received.
You may also
wish to make an electronic fund transfer from your checking account.
Please contact the Foundation office at 319-339-3657 for more information
about establishing an electronic fund transfer.
Other gift
vehicles you may wish to explore are:
Annual Support
We
encourage individual and corporate supporters of Mercy to give to
the Annual Campaign each year. Annual support at every level is
greatly appreciated and is crucial to maintaining the quality of
our programs and services for our patients. If you wish, you may
set up a pledge to give monthly, quarterly, or annually. We would
be happy to send you a reminder in any month you specify.
Planned and Major
Gifts
Long-range
estate and financial planning allow you to make a substantial contribution
to Mercy Iowa City while benefiting your personal financial plans.
Bequests, gifts of life insurance, charitable trusts, and appreciated
securities are among the deferred giving options that Mercy Hospital
Foundation would be happy to discuss with you. Every inquiry is
confidential and treated with respect. For more information about
planned and deferred giving, please use the following link to the
Foundation's
Planned Giving website.

Honorary or Memorial
Gifts
An
honorary or memorial gift is a thoughtful and meaningful way to
recognize the accomplishments of a colleague, friend or relative.
The Foundation notifies the honoree or next-of-kin that you have
made a gift and the person being honored or memorialized is recognized
in the Foundation's annual Honor Roll of Contributors.
Matching Gifts
Many
contributors multiply their support to Mercy Hospital Foundation
by making use of their employer's matching gift programs. Mercy
is grateful to these companies and foundations for their generosity.
We urge you to ask if your employer offers such a program. Please
contact your employer's human resources director for the necessary
form to send with your gift.
Fund for Tomorrow
Endowment
A
permanent endowment fund was created to ensure that future generations
of patients and their families would receive personalized, high-quality
health care. Each year the investment income generated by the endowment
is earmarked for special capital projects at Mercy. The principal
of the endowment is permanently invested and additional gifts may
be added at any time.
A Named Fund
You
may wish to create a named, endowed fund in honor of or in memory
of a loved one to benefit a program or service at Mercy Iowa City.
Sufficient level of funding is required to establish a named, endowed
fund.
To contribute
to Mercy Iowa City, please send your check, payable to Mercy Hospital
Foundation.
