support groups to for a variety of life situations. For more information

information: If you need a wheelchair, please go to the Information
Desk and call Patient Escort Services at extension 2200. Due to
the high demand for wheelchairs, Patient Escort Services will be
happy to assist anyone needing transportation to a meeting room.

Breast Cancer Support Group
This group welcomes women who are living with breast cancer; it
offers a monthly meeting featuring educational presentations. The
group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m., in the
Fanning Room, Mercy Medical Plaza.

Society Volunteer, will discuss the Look Good . . . Feel Better

REGISTER
Breastfeeding
and More
Weekly
group for breastfeeding families. Expecting parents are also welcome.
No fee. Group meets Thursdays, noon to 2 p.m., McAuley room, Mercy
Medical Plaza. Call Mercy On Call for specific dates.
Breath
of Fresh Air
This support group is for people living with chronic lung disease.
It meets on the first Monday of each month, except during January
and February.

Cardiac
Support Group
This group provides monthly education and support meetings; a heart-healthy
luncheon is also available for $5 (payable at door). All meetings
are held on the third Monday of each month at 11:30 in the McAuley
room, Mercy Medical Plaza. A presentation follows at 12 noon. Reservations
are requested no later than the Friday prior to each meeting. Call

Upcoming
meeting: Monday, September 20, 11:30 a.m., a healthy
lunch will be available for $5, payable at the door. At noon,
Deb Jansen, RN, Mercy Infection Control Coordinator, will present
the program "The Flu and You."
Diabetes Support Group
This
group provides support for those with Type 2 diabetes. No registration
is necessary.

Cancer Support Group
This group provides friendship, support, and education for people
living with newly diagnosed or chronic cancer, their families and
friends, and interested professionals. The group meets on the second
Monday of each month at 7 p.m., in the first floor conference room.

11, "Oncology On Canvas - Expressions of a Cancer Journey"
- artwork by people with cancer, their families, friends, caregivers,
and healthcare providers will be viewed and discussed. Presented
by Lilly USA, LLC, in partnership with the National Coalition
for Cancer Survivorship.
November
8, the group will discuss "Finding Gratitude"
December
13, 6 p.m. (note new time) - Annual Holiday Potluck. If you are
able, please bring a dish to share. The main dish, beverages,
and place settings will be provided.

Stroke
Group
This group provides information, support, and friendship for stroke
survivors and their families and friends. It meets twice each month
at Mercy from 1:30 to 3 p.m., in the first floor conference room.

Tuesday, September 7. The group will discuss the managing
fatigue.
Tuesday,
September 21, Tracy Marker, Mercy Employee Safety Manager, will
discuss "Fall Prevention-Safety Measures."
