Parking Info 

Wheelchair information: If you need a wheelchair, please go to the Information Desk and call Patient Escort Services at extension 2200. Due to the high demand for wheelchairs, Patient Escort Services will be happy to assist anyone needing transportation to a meeting room.  

Breastfeeding and More
Weekly group for breastfeeding families. Expecting parents are also welcome. No fee. Group meets Thursdays, noon to 2 p.m., McAuley room, Mercy Medical Plaza. Call Mercy On Call for a listing of specific dates.

Breath of Fresh Air
This support group is for people living with chronic lung disease. It meets on the first Monday of each month, except during January, February, and September. Meetings are held in the Fanning room, Mercy Medical Plaza. Afternoon meetings are held from 2 to 3 p.m.

Monday, November 3, Sarah Neary, Iowa City Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, will discuss "Resources for Dealing with a Serious Illness."
Monday, December 1, Doug Stahl, Mercy Wellness Coordinator, will present the program "Wellness in the Winter."


Cardiac Support Group
This group provides monthly education and support meetings; a heart-healthy luncheon is also available for $5 (payable at door). Beginning in Fall 2014 the meetings are held on a Wednesday of each month at 11:30 in the McAuley room, Mercy Medical Plaza. A presentation follows at 12 noon. Wednesday, October 22, Joyce Hoppes, Iowa Pork Producers Association, will speak on "Pork as Part of a Heart Healthy Diet."
Wednesday, November 19, Kathy Townsend, Mercy Community Relations, will present a program on "Supplementing Medicare: Making the Right Choice for You."
Wednesday, December 17, Sarah Neary, LMSW, will present the program "Conscius Breathing for Relaxation and Quality of Life."

Continuing After Breast Cancer Support Group
This group welcomes women who are living with breast cancer; it offers a monthly meeting featuring educational presentations. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m., Fanning room, Mercy Medical Plaza.
Next meeting:
October 9, 7 p.m., Beth Belton, Nia Instructor and Ageless Grace Educator, Body Moves Fitness and Wellness Center, will  discuss "Exercise that Fits You." Beth will discuss current exercise trends and ways to approach overall fitness and wellness.

Diabetes Support Group
This group provides support for those with Type 2 diabetes. No registration is necessary. Meeting times rotate between afternoon and evening times on the first Thursday of the month (no meeting in July). The group meets in the Scanlon room, Mercy Medical Plaza.

Thursday, October 2, 1 to 2 p.m., Nancy Carlisle, Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, will do a program on "Fun with Pumpkins."
Thursday, November 6, 6 to 7 p.m., topic to be announced.
Thursday, December 4, 1 to 2 p.m., topic to be announced.

HOPE Cancer Support Group
This group provides friendship, support, and education for people living with newly diagnosed or chronic cancer, their families and friends, and interested professionals. The group meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m., in the first floor conference room.

Stroke Group
This group provides information, support, and friendship for stroke survivors and their families and friends. It meets twice each month at Mercy from 1:30 to 3 p.m., in Cafe A (near the entrance of the Mercy Cafeteria).
