Class Details

TITLE ACLS Renewal-PUBLIC Class is full.

ACLS Renewal Class - 4 hour class

This is an American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS renewal class.  This course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and/or other cardiovascular emergencies.  The goal of ACLS is to improve outcomes for adult patients of cardiac arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies through early recognition and interventions by high-performance teams.

In order to attend this class you MUST:
•Email a copy of your current AHA or Military Training Network [MTN]  ACLS card to at least 3 days prior to the class date. 
Complete a REQUIRED pre-course self assessment/test [details are in the confirmation email you will receive]

You may not attend if:
•You don’t have an actual card or 
•Your certification is past the recommended renewal date or 
•Your  ACLS card is not from the AHA or MTN

What this course does not teach
The course does not teach algorithms, ECG rhythm recognition or pharmacology.  Each participant, regardless of their role, is responsible for knowing all of these components and must be able to function as a team leader.  If you do not learn and understand these prior to the class it is unlikely you can successfully complete the renewal session.

Course Materials
You are responsible for obtaining your own copy of the 2015 ACLS provider manual from which to study. Mercy does not lend or sell the provider manuals.

Continuing Education Credit
No Continuing Education Credit is given by Mercy Iowa City, for renewals.
The American Heart Association awards CEHs for qualifying EMS providers.  Please notify the instructor at the session that you are an EMS provider
