Outside of work Dr. Acherkan enjoys fishing, reading, watching sports, spending time with family and playing chess. What he would like his patients to know about him is that he is always willing to stay as long as you need. A colleague has talked about how he is always willing to go the extra mile for patients, and walks his patients out to the parking lot.
