Mercy Iowa City is one of only four hospitals in Iowa to receive the Platinum Performance Achievement Award from the National Cardiovascular Data Registry's ACTION Registry in 2018, and did this for the 8th consecutive year. “This award is yet another example of our outstanding quality patient care at Mercy Iowa City,” said Sean Williams, President and CEO. “I would like to thank our Mercy Cardiovascular providers and colleagues for their continued commitment to high quality care for our patients.” 

Mercy Iowa City is recognized as a Watson Health 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital and recently integrated with Iowa Heart Center to create a premier cardiovascular center named Iowa Heart Center – Iowa City.
