Patients and Visitors

Visiting Hours: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

We are committed to the safety of our patients, visitors, employees, physicians and the communities we serve. Our visitor policy is updated as needed based on the current COVID-19 Transmission Rate. 
Effective January 16, we will follow these guidelines:

  • Masking is not required UNLESS you have tested positive or been exposed to COVID-19 within 10 days or have any COVID-19 symptoms
  • Everyone must screen themselves when entering the facility
  • Visitors CANNOT VISIT if they have any of the following:
    - Tested positive for COVID-19 within 10 days
    - Been exposed to COVID-19 within 10 days
    -Experience any COVID-19 symptoms: Cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever or chills, vomiting or diarrhea, new loss of taste or smell

Service animal in hospital

Effective July ​1, 2023 (Hospital Policy F16), Service animals are only allowed in generally public areas of the hospital. Personal Pets/Emotional Support Animals, in general, are prohibited from entering the healthcare facility. Exceptions need to be pre-approved by the patient's attending physician. 

We follow ADA compliance guidelines.

Cafeteria

  • Located on the first floor of the hospital.
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Free coffee and a 15-percent discount are offered to those 60+. 

 

Cashier Services/ATM

  • Checks up to $20 can be cashed at the Cashier's window from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday. 
  • The cafeteria will accept checks for the amount of a meal purchase. An ATM and change machine are available near the main lobby.

 

 

Latex balloons:

Latex balloons cannot be brought into the hospital because they present an allergy risk to some people. Mylar balloons are acceptable.

 

Lost and Found

Articles found on campus are kept in the Safety and Security Department. Inquiries regarding lost articles can be made by calling 319-339-0300 or 800-637-2942, and asking the operator to connect to Security.

 Special Needs

  • TDD (telecommunicaation device for the deaf) through a dedicated line in the Emergency Room, 319-339-3789. Relay Iowa can be contacted for TTY (teletypewriter) communication.
  • Closed caption television, adapters, volume control telephone receivers and telecommunication devices are also available.

 

 

 

 

 Language Translation Services

  • Patients and visitors who use sign language are encouraged to bring an interpreter with them.
  • Translation services are offered for patients and visitors that do not speak English. In some cases, translation can be provided in-person. IN others, the services of Certified Language International (CLI) are used; this telephone translation service is available 24 hours a day at no change to the patient or visitor.

 

 

 

 Smoking Policy

  • No smoking is allowed in the hospital building or in the Medical Plaza. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas on the hospital exterior grounds. Identifying signs are posted.
